We only ask for personal information when we need it to provide a service to you. A service that is explicitly requested. We collect it by fair, transparent and lawful means – with your knowledge and consent. We also let you know why we’re collecting it and how it will be used.

The Crypto Syllabus will not use your personal data for other purposes than for which you, or your organisation, have given us permission beforehand.

  • Other provided data: feedback and other communication (when it is voluntarily transmitted to us).

Why we collect this data

Personal data as described above is collected by The Crypto Syllabus exclusively for the following purposes:

  • Logging in and verifying/authenticating users of our Services;
  • Communication between The Crypto Syllabus and website visitors and subscribers;
  • Securing the site and monitoring basic statistics (e.g. traffic);
  • We collect and use such data based on consent, which can be withdrawn at any time, and based on the bare minimum we need to operate The Syllabus. You can unsubscribe and delete all your data here or contact us at crypto at the syllabus dot com. We only retain your data for as long as necessary to fulfil these purposes described above.

Storing data securely

We take security measures in order to limit misuse of and unauthorised access to personal data. In particular, we take the following measures:

  • Logical access control, use of passwords and possibly a second factor;
  • Encryption of data;
  • Anonymising data;
  • Securing data during the exchange of it, making use of the HTTPS protocol;
  • Purpose-bound access limitations;
  • Control of acknowledged authorisations.

Provision to third parties

We do not share your personal data with third parties. In principle, we will not provide the data you have provided us to other parties if you have not given us permission to do so, unless this is required by the law.

Cookies

We make use of basic functional cookies on our website. These cookies are saved for the duration of the (browser) session. Additionally, when you use our service, your IP address is automatically saved in the log files of our web server. This is necessary to allow us to properly manage and secure our Services. We do not use your IP address to follow and register your behaviour online (nor pass it on to third parties to do so). We also do not link your IP address to your name, address or other identifying information. You can always refuse the cookies.

Special information for parents

We do not provide our Services directly to, nor collect personal data of, children below the age of 16. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with any personal information, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from children under age of 16 without verification of parental consent, we will seek to remove that information from our servers.

Your rights

You have the right to request access to the information we have about you. You can do this by contacting us directly. We will make sure to provide you with a copy of the data we process about you in an accessible electronic format. We may need to verify your identity to comply with your request.If you believe that the information we have about you is incorrect or if you wish for us to delete information about you, please get in touch, so we can update our systems accordingly. You can contact us at any time with these requests and we will respond in a timely manner.

You are free to refuse our request for your personal information, with the understanding that we may be unable to provide you with some of your desired services.

Third-party websites

Our website and syllabi link to external sites (such as publishers) that are not operated by us. Alas we have no control over the content and practices of these sites and cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy policies. We can only advise you to review the Privacy Statements of those websites before making use of them.
